We Go Beyond the Scope
Inspectors in Texas are not required to provide any of the services below. Chris Shack has been providing them to his clients for FREE since 2011.
Infrared inspections are essential in finding hidden moisture penetration in walls, ceilings, and floors within a home. Infrared cameras can also detect hot spots that may be overheating electricity within walls and inside panels.
Infrared inspections can also find missing insulation and areas of air leakage.
What are foundation elevations?
Every inspection includes a detailed elevation survey and map of the foundation by use of a Ziplevel. These measurements help determine foundation settlement, tilting, and integrity.
What is an Infrared Inspection?
We take time to look at every part of the home and the sprinkler system is no exception. The inspection will include evaluating the system for defects and issues that should be repaired.
Is Gas Leak Detection Included?
Gas leak detection with a handheld gas detector is included with every inspection. Inspectors in Texas ARE NOT required to buy or use gas detection equipment. Shack Inspections has found thousands of gas leaks using this technology free of charge to clients.

FAQs
What cities do you work in?
Shack Inspections is based in Dallas, Texas and inspects all over Texas. Shack Inspections can travel to other cities and will charge a travel fee. Contact the office at 469.647.2806 or email Chris@ShackInspections for an estimate of charges.
How are inspections priced?
Home inspections are priced by square footage. The larger the home the longer the inspection will take to perform. Shack Inspections also offers additional services that can be added to the base inspection.
Why do I need a home inspection?
A home is typically the most expensive purchase a person will make. Home inspectors are trained to find and report problems found within a home. The price of a home inspection is a small fraction of the cost of unforeseen repairs.
Can I follow the inspector during the inspection?
No. The inspector needs to be able to focus on finding potential issues within the home during the short time period allowed for an inspection. The inspector will be able to meet with the client at the end of the inspection to show them anything found during the inspection.
Can I meet the inspector at the home?
Yes. The inspector will be able to meet with you at the end of the inspection appointment and will provide a full evaluation of the home at that time.
When will the report be sent?
The home inspection report will be sent within 24 hours after the inspection is completed.
